Moleskine Agenda ... and why you NEED one.
I've blogged about this precious little device before. An 18 month, weekly agenda.
Now, this is not like any other agenda. And it's not like using the calender on your phone and calling yourself "organized".
No. This agenda is perfectly organized, which is a very hard (but necessary) thing to find in a product of this type. The left page has Sunday-Monday separated into boxes. The right page is lined for notes.
Student's could do something like this:
(left page) Monday: Stats Homework
(right page) Monday: Read chapters 20, 24, 27. Answer questions 1-19, 22 in Chapter 20.
Business people could do something like this:
(left page) Monday: Meeting with P&G
(right page) Monday: 70 King Street West. Turn Left on Bay. 11:00 sharp. Bring resume and computer.

It allows you to have a structured, simple understanding of what is going on on the left page. Followed by a more detailed layout on the right. This ensures that you stay organized and on top of everything. My girlfriends and I ALLLL use one (thanks LV for introducing me to this lifesaver!!) We even use gel-pens and high-ligthers to ensure that we have things color coded.
Pick one up today!! (Chapters and most book store/supply stores will carry this brand).

I recently purchased this tote as my new "work" bag. The structured-ness make's it seem professional, while still allowing enough room for everything I could possibly need to carry.

I Am Canadian
Tomorrow is Canada Day!!!! That means: long weekend, wearing red and white, and of course beer and BBQ'ing !!! Canada turns 144 years old :) Can't wait to get this party started!
Silly Sisters
Anyone who knows me knows I'm obsessed with my sisters. They are my best friends and we tell each other basically everything. We share clothes. Go shopping. Make meals. Watch movies. Go skiing. So What If You're Gay?????
This weekend I'm attending my first ever "Gay Pride Parade" in Toronto. I'll be there Saturday and Sunday, and I honestly cannot wait. I FULLY, 100%, TOTALLY, support equality for all - regardless of sexual orientation. I'm so excited to see what the weekend brings, celebrate a good cause in a non-violent way, and see a whole bunch of fucking wicked costumes.
I have a feeling the experience is going to call for a video post afterwards....

The Best Revenge of All
I had a falling out with someone today. They were once very important in my life, but now they just....aren't. Neither of us meant for it to happen. It just did. Life's funny like that I suppose.
Sometimes in these situations - whether it's a boyfriend or a bestfriend or someone who want out of your life - our initial instinct is to be mean. Being mean to someone makes us mad. And when we're mad at someone, it's easier for us not to miss them. We may even go so far as to try to hurt them socially, emotionally, or even physically.
But let's face it. While being mad, and being mean, are easy (and ok, maybe even fun!) at first - you know you are just keeping your emotions tied around someone you really don't want or need in your life.
So fuck getting mad. Fuck being mean. And fuck getting even. You're better than that, so you need an EVEN BETTER form of revenge.
So what's the best, sweetest, most satisfying revenge of all??????
Self-improvement.
If you are smarter, hotter, healthier, stronger, funnier, and more confidant than you were when you were friends with or dating that person - then you win!!!
ANDDDD not only are you a better person (which in itself is fucking sweet) but you know a whole bunch of better people are going to want to date you or be friends with you. It's how the world works.

The Case of JonBenet Ramsey
My sister is currently watching "Toddlers and Tiaras" - a show about stage parents that basically force their children into Beauty Competitions from a very young age (there is a 0-11 months category!! So redic.)
This made me think about little JonBenet Ramsey, a six year old beauty queen that was murdered in 1996. I would have been 8 at the time, and remember this being plastered all over every newspaper and magazine, which I would force my mom to purchase so I could try to figure out what happened to her.
The heart-breaking story goes as follows: On Christmas Morning, JonBenet was found dead in the basement of her Colorado home. She had been struck on the head and strangled. There were a lot of weird circumstances surrounding the case: her parent's house was very large (and for someone to be able to break in, find JonBenet's room, and approach her without her screaming or anyone hearing was something the jury had a hard time dealing with), and her parents were the main suspects in the murder for a very long time. The ransom note also demanded a very small amount considering the family's wealth, and JonBenet was dead before anyone could even offer money.
The case was re-opened in 2010, and still has not been solved.
So sad. RIP JonBenet.

My mother goes through weird health phases (like mother like daughter, right?). She's gone from buying THREE detox machines, turning my room into a "spa" when I went away to school, putting "Greens Plus" into virtually all our food, we even have a massage therapist come into our house 3 times a week to keep her sane.... and now she's on to her latest obsession: Kombucha Tea.
Kombucha Tea is a Japanese drink that has been used for centuries for medical purposes. It contains acidic bacteria and yeast. Apparently it even helped cure Ronald Reagen of cancer. And if that doesn't sell you on the idea, Lindsay Lohan also swears by it. In fact, every time her alcohol bracelet goes off she blames it on the very small amount of alcohol Kombucha contains (no wonder my mother likes it!).
You can buy this drink commercially, or make it at home if you have a lot of time!
Here's a picture of it fermenting (it takes weeks to make!!!).

A distant relative of mine, and one of the classiest ladies around. Grace was an American actress who had a true fairy-tale wedding when she became Princess of Monaco. Being Princess is one thing, but getting to be Princess of fucking MONACO is a totally different league. I visted Monte-Carlo about a month ago and I can honestly say its the most balling place I've ever been. I mean this girl had it made: famous, and living just south of France!! Plus look at her style! Jealous.
Don't I kind of look like her? LOL
