Before coming to France, I had heard all the stereotypical cliches about the French.

But I actually find them to be some of the nicest, friendliest people. Almost abnormally friendly.

Outside of Notre Dame, there was a group of people holding sings reading "Free Hugs"

Hello France

Hello culture shock!

Coming from a small city outside of Toronto, this country seems HUGE. The cars are smaller, the food is better, wine is cheaper than pop, and I could spend an entire day just looking at the buildings. Coincidentally, "architecture" is one of the few words I can pronounce perfectly en Francais.

The weather when I first arrived was beautiful and warm - for January at least. A nice contrast from a country filled with snow.
